OVERALL OBJECTIVES:

Learn fundamentals of swimming and swimming safety.
Learn common language, swimming terms, and sense of accomplishment.
A healthy lifestyle: increased cardiovascular, mental clarity, and aerobic endurance.
Learn how to set and understand the difference between short term and long term goals.

Accomplish goals set by swimmer by building the club goals to successful swimming:

TRIBS: Technique + Race Strategy + Intensity + Breath Control + Spirit = Successful Swimming!

Age Groups (Age Groups 5 – 12)
- swimmers are working to swim 25yds without stopping. Skill progression develops the swimmer's knowledge of the sport and their ability to accomplish goals such as kicking for distance, breathing correctly while swimming, diving, and wall turns. 10 Stations have been developed to: improve on the swimmers ability to swim safely; increase strength, health (cardio), and endurance; introduce competitive strokes (Freestyle, Back Stroke, Breast Stroke, and Butterfly); keep swimming fun by playing, learning, and swimming with peers while challenging themselves to improve. **Competition is not the focus of Swimmers. While competition is a choice of any swimmer at any level, we use timed swims as a point of reference, skill evaluation, and a performance indicator when discussing goals.** The swimmers goal is to be able to continuously perform a dive from the starting platform and swim 200 yards freestyle followed by 100 yards Individual Medley with legal turns.**

Aqua (Endurance Group) - swimmers are practicing to complete swim test of 200yds freestyle and 100yds IM.
Skill progression continues to develop the swimmer's knowledge of the sport and their ability to accomplish goals such as kicking for distance, breathing correctly while swimming, diving, and wall turns. Swimmers will begin swimming longer distances with a lot of focus on technique to improve on the swimmers ability to swim safely; increase strength, health (cardio), endurance; use of all 4 competitive strokes; keep swimming fun by playing, learning, and swimming with peers while challenging themselves to improve. **Competition is not the focus of Swimmers but it is strongly encouraged. While competition is a choice of any swimmer at any level, we use timed swims as a point of reference, skill evaluation, and a performance indicator when discussing goals. **Swimmers may have the option to participate during events organized or attended by the club excluding fundraisers which are mandatory of all club members.

Platinum (Ages Groups 5 – 18/Competitive Team) – member does desire to compete at USA Sanctioned Swim Meets and is able to

Competitive Team members must participate during events organized or attended by the club including all fundraisers.
